Structure
The structure will deviate a little from the ones at the previous CubeOpens in Hamburg and Potsdam.
The format of the event will be nine rounds of Swiss rounds plus a top 8 playoff. The swiss portion is divided into three drafts, each featuring a different cube:
Two drafts on Saturday and one more draft followed by the top 8 on Sunday.
However, to provide players an event with a vibe that suits them we will be allocating the draft pods of drafts #2 and #3 according to the match points at the time (not exactly the standing). This means that preferences for specific cube environments can only be taken into account to a smaller degree. We will still try to take your wishes into account with a priority given to the pods lower in the standings.
As this is an experiment, we highly encourage giving us feedback on this structure after the event is completed.
Top 8 will be single elimination booster draft of the “Glue-???-Profit” cube that should be new to all participants as it has never been drafted in paper.
The top 8 draft will be timed by one of our judges. Matches in the top 8 are untimed.

The Cubes
Our main event will feature 16 unique Cubes to guarantee everyone will play a fresh Cube every draft, while assembling the draft pods according to the match points.
These 15 Cubes are played in the 9 Swiss rounds:
Call of the Nerd Premodern Cube
A Cube that showcases the depth of gameplay possible with cards from the premodern era (before 2003).
Originally based on Matt Greniers “A Study in Harmony” List. In short: It is a cube that creates highly interactive and powerful gameplay that marries synergy and power and greatly rewards situational awareness and technical play.
An Old Bordered Vintage Cube. Power 9, Chaos Orb, Old Man of the Sea, Shivan Dragon and a whole lot of stuff in between..
Typical Vintage Cube gameplay. At 360 cards, everything will be opened during the draft – including all of the Power 9!
Waste not – want not. In this thematic Peasant Cube (no rares) your deck will be a powerful engine that facilitates either your graveyard, the cycling mechanic or both.
If you like when lands are more than your manabase, you should play this Peasant Cube (no rares).
☆ CCC – Casual Champions Cube (est.2013) ☆
The freedom and ingenuity of kitchen table magic, converted into cube!
A modular Cube about the Guilds of Ravnica. 5 out of 10 Guild modules are available each draft for fresh flavorful conflict.
Inclusions from recent sets and clean designs make the Recent Cube perfect for newer players and refreshing for returning ones.
Clone of Caleb Gannon’s Powered Synergy Cube
A clone of the famour Powered Synergy Cube by Caleb Gannon that really puts a different spin on the Vintage Cube experience.
Lord of the Rings Universes Beyond Cube
This Cube takes you right back to Middle Earth. The exclusion of the most broken cards from the set and a few singleton breaks round out the experience.
A well rounded Legacy Cube, that allows players to exploit powerful syniergies to make more of their iconic cards than the sum of their parts.

Welcome to the Mad Peasant Cube!
I was inspired to make this cube on the basis of the “signpost uncommons”, that help to quickly grasp what is going on.

A fully powered Vintage cube. Get ahead with fast mana, take the Initiative, or straight up combo kill your opponents. No holding back with this cube.

Time to get schwifty!
My Goal for this Cube is to have interactive and decision-rich gameplay in a cube that features iconic, strong, unusual, weird and spicy cards.
