It’s time for the next CubeOpen – the highly unofficial cube championship! This time we meet in Potsdam on January 18-19!
CubeOpen is an event dedicated to celebrating Magic’s greatest format and showcasing a wide variety of cubes.
You don’t need to bring any cards to participate – everything you need will be provided.
CubeOpen is an inclusive environment. We do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia. If you hear, see, or experience anything at our event or leading up to it that makes you or someone else feel unsafe, please reach out to us as soon as possible.
SOLD OUT! You can still fill out this form to get on the waiting list. However, please do not pay until we notified you that a seat opened up for you.
If you cannot wait anymore or didn’t get a seat you could always come to the weekly cube night each Wednesday at 18:30 “Bar Gelb” Charlottenstraße 29, Potsdam Innenstadt 🙂
If you’re interested in joining one or more side event drafts please contact us at mtgcubepotsdam@posteo.de – we can probably find a seat for you 🙂

The Cubes
A Peasant Cube (No Rares) that is easy to draft even for relatively new players, while still providing plenty of depth in draft and gameplay.
An Old Bordered Vintage Cube. Power 9, Chaos Orb, Old Man of the Sea, Shivan Dragon and a whole lot of stuff in between..
Fully powered Vintage cube. Get ahead with fast mana, take the Initiative, or straight up combo kill your opponents. No holding back with this cube.
Let go of what you think is the reality of Peasant plays and begin to dream bigger. Mix and match dozens of packages of synergy to go from pile of cards to a well oiled engine of a deck.
This is a vintage cube designed with the intention of maximizing fun, interaction and value.
The freedom and ingenuity of kitchen table magic, converted into cube!
Everything is either Cycling or Graveyard focused. No defined archetypes, as most things should interact positively anyway.
Originally started as a challenge to create a format in which one of our favorite cards, Dragonstorm, is viable. Since then it has settled into a modern power level, but the namesake card continues to be supported.
Once upon a time in a tavern… – A Fairy Tale Cube
A classic Legacy Cube
Let’s celebrate what sets Magic appart from most TCGs!
Lands matter! Everything interacts with lands! Value through lands. Tempo trough lands. Mana sinks through lands. Let the best mana base win!
A beginner/iconic oriented Cube. Only cards with at least one common print, many from Core Sets (simple/puristic) and Masters Sets (iconic/nostalgic). The aim is to represent every color of magic in its basic form and values.
Goal for this Cube is to have interactive and decision-rich gameplay in a cube that features iconic, strong, unusual, weird and spicy cards.
Many interesting decisions until late into the draft between: power level, hard tribe commits and flexibility
Nothing fancy, just aiming for the general “things you wouldn’t do in other forms of magic”. Not making proactive game actions on turn 2 and 3 will likely put you so far behind that loosing is very likely.
