It’s time for the CubeOpen Hamburg V – Hamburg’s highly unofficial cube championship!
CupeOpen Hamburg is an event dedicated to celebrating Magic’s greatest format and showcasing a variety of cubes while also maintaining a competitive environment.
You don’t need to bring any cards to participate – everything you need will be provided.
CubeOpen Hamburg is an inclusive environment. We do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia. If you hear, see, or experience anything at our event or leading up to it that makes you or someone else feel unsafe, please reach out to us as soon as possible.
THE EVENT IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT! However, some spots usually open up again. We encourage you to register anyway if you’d like to attend. We will then add you to our waiting list and notify you as soon as a seat opens up for you.
When and Where?
CubeOpen Hamburg will be held the weekend of September 27th + 28th, 2025 at the Goldener Salon, Hafenklang, Große Elbstraße 84, 22767 Hamburg.
Doors open at 9:15 and drafting starts 10:00. Please try to arrive 15 minutes early to get settled in and not miss any cubing.

Structure
The format of the event will be nine rounds of Swiss rounds plus a top 8 playoff. The swiss portion is divided into three drafts, each featuring a different cube:
Two drafts on Saturday and one more draft followed by the top 8 on Sunday.
Top 8 will be single elimination vintage cube draft. The draft will be timed by one of our judges. Matches in the top 8 are untimed.
Players will be matched within their respective pods for each round, disregarding overall standings. Deck building and matches will be timed.
Side event drafts will be available Saturday night as well as on Sunday afternoon for those not in the top 8.
There might also be some pre-show drafts Friday night – stay tuned!
Eat and drink
Cold drinks and coffee will be available for purchase at the venue for a small price.
There will probably be no lunch served at the event this time. We recommend bringing your own food or using a delivery service. Some snacks will be available, but unfortunately, we cannot provide food for over 50 people across two days.

4th Place: 1 FBB [[Sol Ring*fbb_274@de]] (German)
5th-8th Place: 1 Modern Horizons 2 [[Arid Mesa*mh2]]
9th-16th Place: 1 Italian Legends [[Karakas*leg_303@it]] (Italian)
All of the top 8 will also receive a set of custom Treasure tokens, in addition to every player in the event receiving a custom Eldrazi Spawn token (as requested by last year’s champion Jonas).
Throughout the event you will be able to win prizes for completing small achievements. For example: if you for take 7+ damage from a single [[Dark Confidant]] trigger, you have achieved Greatness at any cost and will be rewarded accordingly.
The Cubes

My Goal for this Cube is to have interactive and decision-rich gameplay in a cube that features iconic, strong, unusual, weird and spicy cards.
A well rounded Legacy Cube, that allows players to exploit powerful syniergies to make more of their iconic cards than the sum of their parts.
Welcome to the Mad Peasant Cube!
I was inspired to make this cube on the basis of the “signpost uncommons”, that help to quickly grasp what is going on.
Waste not – want not. In this thematic Peasant Cube (no rares) your deck will be a powerful engine that facilitates either your graveyard, the cycling mechanic or both.
Lord of the Rings Universes Beyond Cube
This Cube takes you right back to Middle Earth. The exclusion of the most broken cards from the set and a few singleton breaks round out the experience.
This harmonious list creates highly interactive and powerful gameplay that marries synergy with power and greatly rewards situational awareness and technical play.
